EV charging networks to increase in Ireland
One of Ireland’s largest charge point operators EasyGo has partnered with DKV Mobility to expand its electric vehicle charging network which will offer around 1150 charging points throughout the country.
Nearly one-third of these are DC high-power chargers, enabling faster and more efficient charging.
All newly integrated charge points can be accessed using the DKV Card+Charge or the DKV Mobility app.
DKV Mobility now provides around 938,000 charge points across Europe.
IMO sets emission targets for ships
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has announced an ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.
This marks an important step towards establishing a legally binding framework to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships globally.
The IMO Net-zero Framework differs from previous commitments as it mandates mandatory emission limits and GHG pricing across an entire industry sector. The measures include a new fuel standard for ships and a global pricing mechanism for emissions. These measures, set to be formally adopted in October 2025 before entry into force in 2027, will become mandatory for large ocean-going ships over 5,000 gross tonnage, which emit 85% of the total CO2emissions from international shipping.
