Gothenburg gains new direct service to Asia
The Port of Gothenburg will be added to a new service rotation, establishing an additional direct connection with other key markets in Asia. The decision, made by moving conglomerates Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, comes off of the back of strong confidence in Sweden’s import and export capabilities. For Port of Gothenburg customers, they are expected to see a direct service from three of the world’s largest container shipping lines: Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd and MSC.
New tachos mandatory in Italy
The Italian association AITI will is set to install the second generation smart tachograph (cd v2) on vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes that carry out international transport operations. The move, expected to come about on the 18 August 2025, will also be mandatory on vehicles engaged only on domestic transport that were registered after 21 August 2023. From July next year, the obligation will be extended to include vehicles weighing between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes engaged in international transport operations.
DKV makes it to 1 million
DKV Mobility has over one million EV charge points across Europe, making it one of the continent's largest charging networks. Managing Director at DKV Mobility responsible for Energy at the company Sven Mehringer mentioned that its goal is to streamline this service across the continent:
“Our mission is to make EV charging as simple, efficient, and accessible as possible”.
